MC-S supplies the Digibeter foundation with EVI-D100P cameras for their remote classroom system. This system makes it possible for children with a disease or disability, to follow classes and keep in touch with their schoolmates.
The system exists of a "pillar" consisting of a computing unit, display and a Sony EVI camera integrated as seen on the picture. This device is located in the classroom and is being remote-controlled by the student with pc.

Since the EVI-D100P camera is a Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera this gives the student the opportunity to look around and interact like he or she is actually in the classroom.

Due to this project, a long term disease or handicap does not increase the time spend to finish school.

About "Stichting Digibeter":
digisys2English:

The Digibeter Foundation enables children, who are away from school due to an illness or disability for a long time, to go to school and participate in their own education. The Digibeter equipment "brings" the classroom to their home. In this way, the time to finish a study is not unduly prolonged and contacts with fellow students can proceed as normally as possible.
The aim of this initiative is to give young people, with a chronic or prolonged illness, a normal life to lead. In the Netherlands there are over 250,000 children who are chronically ill. There have been many techniques developed in this field.

Digibeter is focused on:

  • Facilitating distance education
  • Contacts
