SES Solid State Rugged Computing
The SES range of Solid State Data Processors (S3DP Family) offer an extremely powerful, solid state, processing solution with a significant range of &qout;out of the box&qout; inputs and outputs. While S3DP-F series processors offer solid state data storage on removable PCMCIA memory cards, S3DP-B offers increased bulk storage capacity on a removable memory cartridge, as well as further processing options.

This SES rugged computer supports all mainstream operating systems. Available in two variants supporting removable memory cartridge, S3DP-B (Bulk) and S3DP-BE (Bulk Expanded), the product delivers mainstream PC technology in demanding aerospace and military applications.
The larger S3DP-BE provides for further optional interfaces and connectivity in the expanded chassis.
Both products offer all standard PC Interfaces with a number of additional interfaces that are typically useful in embedded and aerospace applications (extra discrete I/O, Serial, Mil-Std 1553, and ARINC429). Where size and space are at a premium, the S3DP-B product packs maximum processing power and interfaces into the minimum space envelope. Where further expansion is required the S3DP-BE provides an additional expansion space supporting further PMC, USB or PCI express expansion devices.
Onboard solid state memory allows embedded operating system performance, while a removable SATA memory cartridge (up to 256GB) is ideal for hosting data gathering or large data intensive applications.
Built in rugged aluminium enclosures, with IP64 water and dust ingress protection, the S3DP-B and S3DP-BE are fitted with military specification connectors. Filtering and isolation are employed to achieve EMC immunity and emissions performance in accordance with requirements typical for use in land, naval and aerospace applications.
Both versions of the product can be provided with full qualification reports, providing test results and evidence that will support its use on a wide range of platforms. Where further qualification results are necessary, SES can work with a customer to carry out any further tests and/or analyses that are required.
S3DP-B and S3DP-BE are rugged hardware platforms that can easily be configured to host a user-developed software application, while the S3DR-BE can be used to host a user's own PMC format expansion card for special functions, or a selection of standard expansion options.
The S3DP-B and S3DP-BE products are computing-specific variants of the SES S3DR data recording solutions, which are operationally used throughout the world in a wide range of mission critical applications. The S3DP family of products benefit from 50+ man years of existing investment, together with ongoing investment in the S3DP product range.
